In the sunlit corridors of Madras Christian College, a group of friends stumbled into something more than music. Casual jam sessions grew into real songs, and with them, stories that felt honest and powerful. And so, the band Levites was born.
Their music blends modern progressive rock with large soundscapes and vulnerable, heartfelt lyrics. In ancient scripture, the Levites were a tribe set apart for worship - a mission statement for the band, whose music is an expression of faith and a way of pointing to something greater than themselves.
Their latest single, "I'm Home," speaks to the journey of losing oneself in life's noise and finding your way back to faith and purpose. On stage, they want every gig to be a moment people carry with them - and there's plenty more on the horizon, including new singles, an EP, and a few collaborations still under wraps.
