




It started with a black acoustic guitar and a one-string version of "Ek Do Teen." From Manipur to Bangalore, Uttam Kumar found his path through restaurant gigs, jazz with the army, underground rock and a deep love for music theory.
He practiced for hours, collected xeroxed guitar magazines from Bangalore libraries, chose the guitar over a conventional path, and went on to become an educator - inspiring a new generation of guitarists. His story is a testament to curiosity, resilience and the freedom to sound different.
